Why we must be more agile than the giants of AI.

Soopra: Leading the Charge in “The Future of AI is Personal.”

The irony is that in the technical world, it’s people who drive the action — not machines.

Think of social media, in which real people reacting, talking, discussing, and arguing drive a significant amount of online discourse and activity. It’s well known that peer recommendations and reviews drive energy for purchases, and increasingly content distribution has become personal as well, with many people watching user-generated content on platforms like YouTube by leading influencers.

Anecdotally and by the numbers, it’s clear that the drive for the personal is universal online. Personalities, friends and influencers drive our journey and reach us at every touchpoint. And, data-backed algorithms continually refine those touchpoints, learning from our user journeys and interests to tailor recommendations on everything from products to friends.

So, with that framework, why isn’t AI meeting people where they are with personalization?

At Soopra, we believe that AI shouldn’t replace people — it should scale them. That means moving away from generalist AI, like broad public large language models and instead creating a more personalized AI that reflects the person it is based on.

The difference between these two approaches is, at a micro level, a representation of the successes and failures of the internet at large. We believe that generalist AI represents a sort of “Web 1.0” wherein a simple, universally accessible entry point is established. But Web 2.0 — marked by interactivity between people and the Internet on social media and other platforms — is what solidified the Internet not just as a utility but as an extension of our worlds.

Think how many of us have “internet friends” or digital communities, lives and selves which we both interact with and integrate into our larger understanding of our world. When AI sticks to a generalist model as a broad utility, it misses the interactivity and personalization that increasingly drive our digital world.

At Soopra, We are working to build a digital world where people can grow their digital personas.

Think of it as the difference between a freight train and a motorcycle — the smaller models can move faster, take sharper turns, and have more freedom to navigate than the behemothic, titanic competition.

The metaphor also extends to the human intelligence that personalization brings: users can train, interact and otherwise impact their, AI persona and “drive” them themselves.

We believe that the future of AI will be built on the exchange of information within human/computer interaction. In that future, interactivity will be the model for distinguishing, training, and creating meaningful AI programs that scale out our unique humanity in a similar way as social media has scaled out our personalities within a digital space.

Soopra is proud to be leading that charge from a ground-up approach, where people can train and grow their interactive AI personas based on and created by real people to reflect, replicate, and learn from their real personalities.

Together we are building the platform where people and AI can interact at scale in the digital world.
